How does billing work?
Payments are handled by Creem, our merchant of record: they charge your card, take care of VAT and sales tax, and send your receipts. Prices are in US dollars; tax is added at checkout where it applies.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes — from Account & billing, in two clicks. You keep your plan until the end of the period you paid for and you won't be charged again. You can resume any time before it ends.
What happens when I upgrade?
The new plan starts right away. You pay the prorated difference for the rest of your current billing period — we show the exact amount before you confirm — then the new price at renewal.
And when I downgrade?
You keep your current plan until the period you paid for ends; the lower price starts at your next renewal. Nothing is charged or refunded for the switch, and you can undo it before then.
Do you offer refunds?
Yes. If steampeek isn't for you, write to support@steampeek.app within 14 days of your first payment and we'll refund it in full. See the refund policy.
Monthly or yearly?
Yearly costs the same as ten months — 17% less than paying monthly. You can move from monthly to yearly any time from Account & billing: a new yearly period starts that day and the unused part of your current month is refunded to your card.
What are AI credits?
Credits pay for AI review reports — a readout built from every review of a game: the recurring themes, what players complain about and praise, and a producer-style summary. A report costs 1 (Standard, 700 reviews read), 2 (Deep, 1,500 reviews read), 4 (Max, 3,000 reviews read); a game with fewer reviews is charged for what the AI actually reads, and a failed run costs nothing. Pro includes 3 credits a month and Studio 25, plus 10 audience scans. Unused credits don't roll over; they reset on the 1st (UTC).
Which plan includes the API?
Studio. It comes with API keys (up to 3), a versioned REST API with an OpenAPI spec, and a hosted MCP server, so your own code or an AI assistant can query steampeek directly: games, charts, releases and publishers. It includes 50,000 API units a month, at most 5,000 a day, and 60 requests a minute per key.
How are API units counted?
The REST API and the MCP server share one pool, and each call costs units by weight: a lookup or a list page 1, a history series 3, a launch forecast 10. Once you reach the daily or monthly limit, requests are answered with HTTP 429 until that limit resets. There are no overage charges: you are never billed for more than your plan.
Which AI tools work with the MCP server?
Any client that can connect to a remote MCP server, including Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code and Claude Desktop. You add steampeek's server address and send your API key in a request header; the API docs have the setup for each.
What can I do with the data from the API?
Use it for your own internal work: research, your team's tools and dashboards, an assistant that answers your questions. Reselling it, republishing it in bulk, building a competing product on it or training AI models with it isn't allowed. Quoting a few numbers in public is fine with a “Data: steampeek” credit. The full rules are in the terms.
What do I get without paying?
Without an account: search, the main top lists, compare, exact release times and the core charts with 7 days of history. A free account extends history to 3 months and adds the watchlist, Game Releases, More Like This, the pre-release hype board, the next 7 days of the release calendar and a launch estimate on every upcoming game.
Is steampeek affiliated with Valve?
No. steampeek is an independent project built on public Steam data; it isn't affiliated with or endorsed by Valve or Steam, and all trademarks belong to their owners.
Where are my invoices?
In the billing portal: Account & billing → Payment method & invoices. Creem also emails a receipt for every payment. For anything else — a team plan, a custom invoice — write to support@steampeek.app.
Payments are processed by Creem, our merchant of record and the seller of record for every purchase; Creem's Buyer Terms apply to the payment. By subscribing you agree to our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
